Tips on caring for your pearly whites in the golden years
The body changes with age in many ways, and that includes oral health. The cumulative effects of any trauma or poor hygiene in the past, along with normal wear and tear can leave teeth chipped, fractured, stained, or infected. Many mature adults lose their natural teeth to gum disease, but it is often avoidable with proper care.

Here are a few simple tips for seniors or caregivers:
  • Watch for signs of dry mouth. It is a common side effect of medication, and can lead to or exacerbate oral disease.
  • Be sure to tell your dentist about any existing medical condition, such as diabetes, because this can impact oral health.
  • There are a number of tools such as electric toothbrushes that can make oral hygiene easier for those with limited movement or motor control.
  • Make dental appointments more frequently if oral health problems are persistent or recurrent.

Testimonials
Never in my life did I think I'd say, "I LOVE my dentist."

Then I decided to go to Dr. Kristen Adams.

I found them via yelp, and called them after the office staff of another highly listed dentist was incredibly rude to me over the phone, and I'm incredibly glad I did call the Adams.

Brenda, who is their receptionist, is incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable - she is absolutely the reason I decided to come into their office. Her demeanor was calming and reassuring, and once I actually had an appointment, I understood why. Everyone is treated like family, even the patients.

So, Dr. Kristen Adams is nothing short of a genius - she is a talented woman who has gone into practice with her father. Why is she so talented at such a young age? She started as a dental hygenist at the age of 14. Yep. 14. I don't know what you were doing at 14, but the closest thing to my career field I was doing was basic CPR class.

Dr. Kristen, as she's called, is now in practice with her father, who is very experienced, skilled and so very, very kind. I've only met him in passing in the office, but it's easy to see where she gets her demeanor. In fact, everyone who works in this office is either family (mom works there too!) or extended family, or is treated like family - and I can see why.

The Adams are awesome. You can see so much respect between both Dr. Adams and Dr. Kristen, they have amazing staff, and they're just really good people.

I had the same dentist for 30 years prior to Dr. Kristen, and when a new person took over his practice, she had told me I needed a ton of work totaling thousands of dollars. Dr. Kristen took one look at me and said, "no, that's not the case." She made me feel good about coming into the dentist after not being there for 2 years, instead of feeling guilty that I hadn't come in 2 years.

That's the difference. You can't teach this kind of patient care in school.
I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. They are AWESOME.
I can't wait to go back to my dentist!
