Selfies can improve your oral health, according to a new study |
|
There is no question that social media, and the advent of selfies, changed our lives in many ways. Some of those changes are very positive, including tooth-brushing selfies! A new study, which was published in the Indian Journal of Dental Research, examined the effect of people filming their oral hygiene routines. The study had several interesting findings:
- People who took selfie-videos while brushing and flossing tended to improve their hygiene
- Researchers believe the act of filming makes people more conscious of their brushing habits, and the opportunity to review their techniques could be beneficial
- This groundbreaking research could lead to future applications, including the use of selfie-videos to help dentists identify problems and provide more customized hygiene education for patients

Dental Bonding |
Dental bonding is the perfect alternative to other cosmetic dentistry procedures such as porcelain veneers. This restorative treatment is often used by the team to address imperfections of the teeth such as chips, cracks, discoloration, gaps, and misalignment.
How does dental bonding work?
Dental bonding starts with the preparation of the tooth. The surface of the tooth enamel is lightly etched to ensure a tight bond. Bonding liquid is applied and set, and then a plastic resin is used. It is sculpted onto the tooth by the dentist, and set with a special light.
